In addition to its collaborative research with partners around the world, ISI serves as the Secretariat of the International Partnership for the Satoyama Initiative (IPSI) and helps to administer a number of networking and capacity-building projects both within and apart from the partnership.

Satoyama Development Mechanism (SDM)
A collaborative activity established under IPSI to address constraints in resource mobilization by providing seed funding to promising projects in SEPLS.
Community Development and Knowledge Management for the Satoyama Initiative (COMDEKS)
A collaborative activity established under IPSI to support local community activities to maintain and rebuild SEPLS, and to collect and disseminate knowledge and experiences from successful on-the-ground actions.
A project created to mainstream conservation and sustainable use of biodiversity and ecosystem services, while improving human well-being in priority SEPLS.
